I don’t read the blogs in all honesty. That’s not a condemnation of Ben in any way I don’t read any blogs on here really. I come on here to discuss/debate about the team with you guys that’s about it. Also, keep in mind Ben writes blogs for four or five other teams on here as well so I’m sure that’s impactful with regards to the content. I highly doubt this is how he makes a living. He’s a Leafs fan so if you’re looking for an opinion piece you’re probably barking up the wrong tree. |

Klingberg signs a one year deal with ANA. Does this open the door for Kadri doing something similar? Doubt it due to his age. The guy will most likely want a contract extending to his retirement. Kind of shocked Klingberg did but by the time the season starts he’s still three years younger then Kadri which still makes him marketable after this season. If we don’t already have a contract in place with kadri(which I believe more and more to be the case) you have to wonder if him and his agent are starting to get a little nervous. Teams seem to be having trouble moving salary which will make signing him exponentially more difficult. |

Chaz even what there were things to write about he has fallen short. When he first started writing this blog he had some interesting points and insight. Now yesterday's paper has more insight.
Here lies something to explore. What happened to Wiseman? why did he suddenly fall off the grid? Is the hiring of McLean an actual replacement for Wiseman of did management want a fail safe if Lambert falls short and stumps?
All I am saying is bring something with substance to the table. |

If Kadri was younger I would say betting on himself for one year would not be a bad more to maximize his last big payday. However, as you have pointed out, given his age I am not so sure it is a smart move.
Klinberg will be flipped at the trade deadline to a contender.
I understand that they all want to maximize their value. I can respect that but GM's who give out these lengthy contracts to aging vets just dig themselves into a hole.
Question, and forgive me for not remembering but do the bonuses count against the cap? ie. performance and signing.

The guys not a beat reporter for the team. How the fack would you expect him to answer those questions you just asked when the professionals who get paid to do this don’t have any idea. Coming on this site and complaining about the lack of quality content is like complaining about the story line in a porn movie 🤣🤣 |

I don't see a terrible downside to the 1 / 2 yr deals for vets... gives you options on where to play and with betting on yourself allows raises based on performance...
Anyone who doesn't see Klingberg absolutely killing it on the PP with Z feeding him apples is nuts..
Hopefully Verbeek goes to Kads and offerst 2 x 8 -

I’m not in any way saying it’s a bad deal for the ducks. I just think Klingberg may have been able to get a longer commitment. Maybe not for the reasons I stated in my earlier post. As far as the Ducks are concerned it’s a great deal. They may be able to resign him if they want or they have a player that will 100% get them a first rd pick the at very least at the TDL. |

Performance bonuses count against the cap but the player has to reach them to get it obviously. Good way to incentivize a player. |

Well you can tell it is August as the the ridiculous articles keep coming. I read two articles that had Isles sending Dobson to Vancouver as part of a deal for JT Miller.
I am all for getting Miller but not with Dobson as part of the trade. Makes absolute no sense. It is almost as nutty as Leaf trade proposals. |
